Featured Artist Dulce Beltran

In her artwork, Dulce Beltran focuses on the natural world, depicting animals and nature scenes. She works methodically, spending months on one detailed painting. Her work is sophisticated yet playful.

Dulce began drawing when she was a child and got her first coloring book from her aunt; she has been making art ever since. She has said, “I love art so much that instead of doing homework at school, I made art”. After graduating from school, Dulce started attending Cedars programs, where she has blossomed as an artist, with her artwork featured in many Bay Area exhibitions.

Dulce has participated in Cedars programs for almost 25 years is one of the nearly 200 individuals that attend Cedars programs daily. Since 1919, Cedars has been an integral part of the Marin community, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through innovative day programs and residential services.

Cedars three day programs connect individuals with the best expression of themselves. Individuals are working artists, master weavers designing and creating textiles, co-op owners managing and selling produce from a two-acre fruit and vegetable garden, animal caregivers, chefs, and volunteers who support our local community. Cedars also offers residential programs throughout Marin County, including ten homes and a main campus, where residents live full and meaningful lives.

Cedars fine art, textiles and jewelry are exhibited and sold at Artist Within—A Cedars Gallery in downtown San Anselmo.

Cedars is proud to be celebrating its 100 year anniversary, "A Century of Caring", in 2019. To kick-off this milestone, Cedars will present “Cedarsville” activity booths and rides at San Anselmo’s annual Country Fair Day on September 30th.
