Great News!

In October we achieved a milestone for our town. After years of negotiations and behind-the-scenes efforts, the San Anselmo Arts Commission has obtained the Town Council’s approval to proceed with Public Art projects!

We look forward to great things in our town!

“The Hub” Transit Benches

The Commission is happy to announce that it has selected Wyatt Hersey (Santa Cruz; hometown San Anselmo) and John Hersey (San Anselmo) to complete the painting of the transit benches.

They were selected from 23 submissions. The Commission loved that their colorful design is very specific to San Anselmo — a visual “quilt” weaving together various icons, pattern and symbols that reflect our town, such as Mt Tam, barn owls at Town Hall, the Sugarfoot deer and Yoda. Upon learning that they were selected Wyatt said, “My father, John Hersey, and I are thrilled at the prospect of contributing to the Hub Transit Center Benches Project."
